Spring Home Refresh Featuring the Laurel Rug

It’s practically spring in Louisiana and I couldn’t be more happy! While I love cozy-ing up for winter, you can’t beat the blissful light aroma that spring offers. Spring is a time of renewal, growth, and rejuvenation, and it’s the perfect season to give your home a fresh, new look. Here are several tips and tricks for swapping home accents between seasons. The main feature for today’s spring home refresh is the gorgeous Laurel Rug from my collection. Let’s get into why this rug works for this season and any home style.

Spring Home Refresh

The Laurel Rug

One of my favorite rugs from the collection because it’s a versatile, neutral base with a pop of color. The Laurel Rug features characteristics of timeless southern charm with a touch of modern and mixed colorways. The off-white color variety is perfect if you have beige or tan furniture; this will blend right in. Or if you have more light-colored furniture with a mix of different accent colors, I would suggest the Grey Laurel, which is just as stunning. Either one will add a gorgeous accent to your spring lineup or help you seamlessly transition from your winter decor.

Spring Home Refresh Tips

  1. Add pops of color: Bring in bold, bright colors to your decor to reflect the vibrant, blooming flowers of spring. Consider adding throw pillows, curtains, or a new area rug in radiant shades of yellow, pink, or green. A neutral rug with colorful accents is a great option and allows for more diversity in decor.
  2. Embrace nature: Bring the beauty of nature into your home by adding fresh flowers, plants, and herbs. Consider planting a herb garden on your windowsill for a touch of green, or fill vases with fresh blooms from your local florist. Adding florals to your home design is the easiest decor hack that always looks stunning when nothing else seems to flow.
  3. Lighten up: Spring is all about light, bright, and airy spaces. Swap heavy curtains for sheer or lightweight ones, and switch out dark bedding for lighter, more radiant linens. Some of my favorite colors to use during this season are shades of pink, yellow, blue, and green.
  4. Accessorize: Accessorizing is an easy and affordable way to add a touch of spring to your home. Add new candle holders, picture frames, or decorative accents in spring-inspired colors and patterns. My main themes are farmhouse and cottage decor, and most of these pieces are made for springtime.

Spring Home Styled

While I can think of a million ways to style the Laurel Rug, here are some of my favorite accents that complement this design. You don’t need to get all-new furniture, especially if you already have a neutral sofa like this upholstered love seat. However, I would recommend adding some fun throws like these mustard chenille & pink and tan pillows. I recently discovered this distressed blue cabinet and fell in love. Not only does it scream vintage spring, but it also brings out the colorful accents on the rug. Personally, it’s just my style and a beautiful piece of furniture, no matter the season.

Lighter wood always complements the warmer seasons. This oval coffee table is under $100 and perfectly complements this rug. Or for a simple accent chair that has a lovely cottage coastal feel to it is this rattan lounge chair.

Spring Decor

We have already incorporated some spring colors from the rug around the room with pillows and light and fun-colored furniture. But what else can inspire your home this spring? Decor will vary around your personal style; farmhouse staples are an easy way to incorporate the season. These are just some of my favorites that will enlighten seasonal warmth and joy. To start, consider these rattan display boxes that favor the light wood theme. With twists of farmhouse and coastal home styles, you can easily incorporate this piece into most aesthetics. Plus, it doubles as storage.

I love thrifting for pieces, especially for accents that are interchangeable between seasons. Amazon has fantastic rustic pieces, such as this red metal tier tray. Perfect for kitchen storage or table decor for Sunday breakfast. The same goes for this gingham stoneware pitcher; something about this print is the unsaid pattern for spring. Or on the walls, there’s this scenic framed barn art that ties in all the right colors. Last but not least, try to incorporate as much greenery as possible. If you need a new vase for spring, try this glass vase with a frog lid, so your flowers stand perfectly in place for a designer finish.

Traditional Features

If farmhouse isn’t your preferred style, don’t worry. There are still some adorable traditional and classic features that tie in with the Laurel Rug. The most prominent theme of spring is the Easter holiday, and this brass rabbit container is right on target. This piece is so easy to layer into any table decor and is effortlessly elegant. Adding a catchall tray to your coffee or console table is convenient and an easy decor swap. I love this copper pinch pot; the pinkish undertones are dreamy.

Last but not least, this is one of my favorite lamps. While this does match all the spring accents, you can keep this out all year, like me. Staples like this are worth the investment for your home, and if you get bored, you can easily interchange different lamp shades.

Spring is the perfect time to refresh and rejuvenate your home. By incorporating natural elements, soft pastel colors, and bold floral patterns, you can create a warm and inviting space that reflects the beauty and energy of the season. So, whether you’re updating a single room or giving your entire home a makeover, don’t be afraid to get creative and have fun with your spring home decor. All you need to start is the beautiful and stylish Laurel rug to start getting your home ready.
