Simple Ways to Create a Swoon-worthy Christmas Outdoor Space

Hi friends! The villas have me SO consumed this Christmas season, and I haven’t had much time to really twirl up my home.  BUT, I have in years past and thought I would do a quick round up today of those spaces.  Here are some of my favorite exterior Christmas scenes from years gone by. Let’s start out with my all-time favorite porch vignette.

Christmas Home

My Famous Porch

If you have been following me for some time now, you recognize this space. I LOVE to showcase my back porch and Christmas is my favorite. First, I usually add a sign that hangs above my swing, like this similar Santa’s Workshop option. Next, I always add a rug to this space to tie the design together. Since this space already has a ton of color, I opted for this neutral Orian Rugs Boucle Biscay Area Rug. Next, I used this Sunbrella Twin Size Mattress Cover in Canvas Cadet Grey on the swing bed to neutralize the space and  then went full-on Christmas colors with the throw pillows. Next, I added a Christmas tree to this space. I chose this Pre-Lit Flocked Birmingham Fir instead of a traditional green tree because it illuminates the space beautifully and matches these Party LED Outdoor String Lights.

Front Door Christmas Decor

Does anyone else leave their summer plants on their porch for the winter season? (Zone 8 here so sometimes it’s still summer in the south in December, lol.) Pro-tip: Plants make for even better Christmas decor to layer on your steps! Layering is the key to making your Christmas decor pop, and it can be as simple as layering your welcome mats. I adore this Holiday Door Mat and Red and White Plaid Rug, which might seem like a small detail, but it’s one of my favorite things on this porch. Next, I added these NICOLAS HOLIDAY Window candles on the inside of my home to illuminate my sills! They make my house look SO cozy and inviting and really bring in that Dickens charm. Finally, these Pre-Lit Balsam Fir Potted Artificial Christmas trees are perfect to add to each side of your entryway to balance out the symmetry and make you feel like you’re walking into a winter wonderland.

Christmas Side Patio

Side Patio Christmas Spotlight

Here is another one of my guilty pleasures; this holiday space is my own private getaway. I love to relax here and soak in the Christmas spirit. This is my little garage porch, and even though it’s not a large space, I still make the most of it. The table I have here fits perfectly!  I did find these similar Bamboo Patio Dining Chairs if you like the look of these.

Christmas Pillow

These chairs are SO comfortable, and the white accents work for every season. To spice up the Christmas spirit, I added these Red Knit Throw Pillows to tie in some of the accents.  I added a neutral rug and kept things on the simpler side here. This Natural Fiber Doormat does just the trick here, and I can leave it out year-round.

Christmas Side Patio

I re-used the Mrs. Claus sign here because it’s just so stinking’ cute! The rest of my decor is mostly just my plants which I haven’t put away yet.  The red flowers are just a bonus, considering the season. If you are a plant person, try picking up some red poinsettias next time you’re at the market.  They are my favorite during the wintertime and I plant them in my yard in the spring. True story! I added this Faux Wreath on my backdoor to top off the space.

Greenhouse Turned Yuletide Hide Away

If you have an extra space in your home, I highly recommend transforming it into your holiday getaway. This is my greenhouse and this was a space I created a few years ago.  It’s mostly made up of thrifted, roadside finds! Believe it or not! 🙂

There are so many easy ways to spruce up the exterior of your home for the holidays. Whether you add a simple wreath to your front door or have four giant Christmas inflatables in your front yard, you can create a space designed just for you!  In the comments below, please share some of your favorite ways to decorate your porches for Christmas.  Then, you can click below to shop some of the items I mentioned above.

Oh wow, everything looks so fun, happy and festive. I would love sitting out there in either space but I think the little cozy nook on the side is so cozy. Merry Christmas!
